Game Ideas! - Bullet Time and Bug, Out!

This post will showcase some potential ideas for a game prototype I'll be working on as part of a team this semester. The general theme is Unexpectedly Opposite, so I've come up with some ideas that really challenge assumptions when it comes to games!

(Note: the following are working titles)

1. Bullet Time

Tired of playing shooting games where you have to actually aim your bullets? Well, how about instead we make YOU the bullet. In this game, you play as a special type of bullet that can curve and move around as it needs to in order to hit its target. The only thing that stands between you and the bad guy is... well... a crowd of other bad guys. Your goal is to weave through the crowd and around obstacles in slow motion, in order to hit your mark and take out your target. This game is intended to have an "arcadey" feel combined with precision gameplay and challenging levels. As a result, the target audience is probably intermediate-level players, who have a grasp on how to play games that require precision, yet are looking for a more casual and fun experience with gameplay that is rather unique. The prototype for this game should primarily focus on the gameplay, but level design is also an important factor in this type of game.

2. Bug, Out!

What if instead of a pest extermination game, the roles are reversed? In this game, you play as a spider and have to try and escape a person's house who has found you and is trying to hunt you down. Hide behind objects to avoid the gaze of the predator human, and run for it while they're distracted! This game is another arcade-style game, which is aimed at casual players who are familiar with 3D-platfformer-like games. The levels for this game could range from a series of open cupboards you have to weave through, to messy-kitchen countertops with plenty of things to hide behind. The prototype should focus on the platformer-like gameplay, while also emphasizing the scale of the environment around you.

Please feel free to suggest feedback for these ideas so that I can improve upon them. I can see both of these ideas being expanded upon more in the future if they are to be put into development.
